Steps to Obtaining a Florida Community Association License

Step 1. Meet Florida Division of Real Estate Requirements

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. You do not need be a Florida resident or a citizen of the United States.

Step 2. Attend the Ed Klopfer C.A.M Pre-license Course

Take a state approved eighteen (16) hour CAM pre-license course to prepare you for the state exam. The course is scheduled on weekends. Click here or contact our courteous staff at 800-370-1570 for dates and times.

Step 3. Apply for Your State License Examination
  • Go to www.myfloridalicense.com
  • Select “Apply for a License” (right column under Public Services). There will be an application fee that can be paid with an electronic check, credit or debit card.
  • Submit application.
  • Fingerprint cards must be obtained from either Ed Klopfer Schools or the DBPR. This card must be completed by your local law enforcement agency. A completed fingerprint card and course report must then be forwarded to the DBPR to finalize your application.

Upon approval of your application, you will receive a letter providing you with the necessary information to make an appointment for the state examination. You must pass the state exam with a score of at least 75%.
