• After you have decided on the appropriate license, register and get your Books & Materials to get started right away!

• Register with Professional Testing. You will be sent a candidate Id# for registration for each exam at Pearson Vue. Click Here to visit their website or contact them at (407) 264-0562. Registration will be $135 (see downloads for details).

• After you have finished going through the books, highlighting and the workshops. Pearson Vue will administer the computer-based testing (CBT), for (3) exams: Business & Finance ($80), Contract Administration ($40) and Project management ($40). Each student will set their own prep time with individual coaching with Ed Klopfer, prep time is done via classroom, Zoom, Facetime, phone. We work around your schedule!

General Building and Residential Contractors Programs. Each module covers separately Business & Finance, Contract Administration & Project Management.

There is Highlighting exercising through each module, on our audio/visual portion of the Prep. Then individual coaching through each module. (Business & Finance, Contract Administration & Project Management).

Each module is done by individual coaching to accommodate your schedule, via classroom, Zoom or Facetime phone.

No.  We instruct you as to where and how to do it along the way.  We believe this helps you know the material and know better where it is located in the books than if we did it for you.

120 questions in a 6 1/2-hour exam

Remember…Business and Finance is always (120).  The other two (2) trade exams & contract administration and project management differ as to the license being tested for. General Contractor is (60) questions each, Building Contractor is (50) questions each and Residential Contractors is (45) questions each.

Yes, the books are everything along with our instructions. We will instruct you as to which books are necessary for the state exams, and which ones you can take into the testing site.

They are given at ANY Pearson Vue location in Florida or Nationwide (6) days a week from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm EST.

Your exam grade is good for four (4) years.

• Have 4 years of experience as a worker with one year as a foreman or superintendent
• Have a 4-year degree in a construction related field and one year of experience in the category you want to qualify for
• Have 3 years of college credit and I year as a foreman

No, you have (4) years to get all your experience necessary, exam scores are good for (4) years

Basically, General is unlimited building.  A Building contractor can build up to three (3) stories of commercial or residential .  A Residential contractor can build up to two (2) stories, residential only.

Yes, Business & Finance, Contract Administration & Project Management can be purchased separately as individual modules; but you save roughly $300 dollars purchasing them all at once.

No, not at this time.

You will need a 70% or better score for each exam.

No.  You will retake only the exam you failed.

Yes.  14 hours of approved continuing education is required every two (2) years, ending on August 31 of even numbered years (2024, 2026, etc).
