Steps to Obtaining a Florida Community Association Management License
Step 1. Meet Florida Division of Real Estate Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. You do not need be a Florida resident or a citizen of the United States.
Step 2. Attend the Ed Klopfer C.A.M Pre-license Course
Take a state approved eighteen (18) hour CAM pre-license course to prepare you for the state exam. The course is scheduled on weekends. Click here or contact our courteous staff at 800-370-1570 for dates and times.
Step 3. Apply for Your State License Examination
- Go to www.myfloridalicense.com
- Select “Apply for a License” (right column under Public Services)
- There will be an application fee that can be paid with an electronic check, credit or debit card.
- Submit application and print your attest statement**. The attest statement must be notarized and our Sarasota, Ft. Myers and Naples locations can provide this service by appointment only.
** Paper copy applications require an attest statement be printed, signed and submitted together with the finger print card.(notarization is not required) - Fingerprint cards must be obtained from either Ed Klopfer Schools or the DBPR. This card must be completed by your local law enforcement agency. A completed fingerprint card, attest statement, and course report must then be forwarded to the DBPR to finalize your application.
Upon approval of your application, you will receive a letter providing you with the necessary information to make an appointment for the state examination. You must pass the state exam with a score of at least 75%.
Step 4. Pass Your Exam the First Time.
After you complete the 18 Hour course, take our targeted one-day prep.
